Running or jogging isn’t for everyone. It’s definitely not for me, I personally can’t understand the appeal, so I always look for other ways to stay fit. I’d even joined the gym again for the first time in a while before all this started, so not being able to go there has been frustrating to say the least. But exercise is important, so I’ve had to come up with new ways to do it.
What I’ve started doing recently is going out to an open area, taking a rugby ball with me, and practiced kicking and chasing. It means I am doing something I enjoy still, and it gets me exercising. I also use walking the dog as a good way to get out and be active, because even this can make a massive difference.
You can be as inventive as you want with exercise in the lockdown, some people choose to do workouts in their house, some people prefer to get out and about, it’s about finding what works for you. The important thing is no matter how you do it, exercising is something we should all be striving to do at the moment. It’s a way of not letting the current situation beat us.
So stay positive, stay active, and this is Conor, signing off
