As the weather here recently has been lovely (for the most part), I thought I’d do a bit of an upbeat post. The sun has a powerful effect on people, when it’s out, you can see people being happier, looking on the bright side. The thing is, when the sun goes away, lots of people lose that again. It’s a very weird system, but it’s one that if you make a change in how you perceive it, you can short circuit this reaction.

Now I really don’t want this page to come across as cheesy or anything like that, but I may need to dip into the cheese for a minute to help with the idea of this realignment. That “happy when the sun is shining” mentality changes when you consider the fact that realistically, the sun is always shining, we just can’t always see it. This kind of links in to my whole silver linings attitude too, because one of the best ways to look at the world is through a positive lens. The real point to this is to show the importance of trying to have a positive outlook whether the sun is out or not. Being positive shouldn’t be something that changes with the weather, it can be something that you can make into a constant aspect of your life.

I’m not trying to say that by making one small change you can be positive 100% of the time, because in all honesty, I would class myself as a realist. I look at a situation as it is, but being realistic about something doesn’t stop me from looking for the silver lining, the one piece of positivity that exists within almost every situation. All we need to do is look for it, and that is what I mean by trying to have that “happy when the sun is shining” attitude all the time, because no matter how hard it may be to see, the sun is always shining.

Stay positive, and this is Conor, signing off
